When you found out you were pregnant did you stop smoking and drinking alcohol.?

Friday, November 27th, 2009

When you found out you were pregnant did you stop smoking and drinking alcohol.

Taking into account all the research proves drug taking, smoking and alcohol can hurt an unborn child, did you take a chance, were you not bothered or did you stop?
Some have said they and family did smoke and drink and they are OK. Of course many babies are born OK where the mum smokes and drinks. But what kind of a selfish person will take that kind of risk is a smoke worth risking an unborn child hell NO.

As soon as i found out i was pregnant i stopped drinking. I wasnt a smoker before but my partner is and he wont smoke near me or allow anyone else to now we know we are expecting.

Sorry to all the pregnant women on here who do smoke but i dont agree with it and when i see one with a cigarette in her mouth im disgusted and appalled!

When i found out i was pregnant i changed my diet and eat much healthier now aswell.

I dont think changing your habits for nine months to give your baby the best possible start in life is a sacrifice at all! Alcohol is not more important to me than the wellbeing of my unborn child.
I know if i continued my behaviour knowing that i was pregnant and something went wrong i would blame myself for it, irrespective of wether it was related to alcohol ect or not.

How do you deal with someone in the family that can’t stop telling lies?

Tuesday, November 24th, 2009

Sorry, I know it’s a book but I wanted to give you a good idea of things.

When I first met my sister-in-law I really liked her. She is charming. She was in the military and was getting discharged for medical reasons. She made me feel really sorry for her. She wasn’t getting paid she says but she was getting a huge settlement. So I lend her 5k. She promises that as soon as she gets the settlement she’d pay the money back. Well she got it and kept telling me that her Aunt had it, she was keeping it so she wouldn’t spend it. Then finally when my car blew up I finally said talk to Aunt___because your brother and I really need that money. We needed a car for work. My husband talks to their dad and he tells him that Aunt____wasn’t keeping it for her, she owed all of that money to her. Naturally we get upset so she tries to cover her bases by telling the whole world a million things that were not true. Such as, I slept around etc. We stopped talking to her for months. Fast forward, my husband and I where having our first baby. I decide it is time to tell her "let’s put everything in the past". I hear several things from family and friends. They send me emails of hers that incriminate her. She swears on her daughter’s life she didn’t say those things. Still I’m trying to keep the peace and let things slide. She lives 7ish hours away so it’s been okay. Well she may end up moving to our state. Just recently she told more lies. She lied to me about something that took a lot of calculation and effort. She lied because she wanted something from me that she knew I wouldn’t give her unless……. I am the kind of person that makes excuses for peoples actions. I like pretty much everyone.

She says things about me that are totally absurd. She was smoking weed, her dad went to her apartment and saw a pipe, she tells him it was mine. Most of the time though she will take a little bit of truth and turn it into something awful. i.e. If my husband and I were shopping for a car and we like different things, she’d say they got into a huge fight and almost got a divorce. Luckily my husband had hated her long before I came into the picture. The thing is, her lies are believable. She tells my in laws things and they believe her. She lies about everyone including her husband who hates me because of her. Her husband texted my husband and said our daughter wasn’t (my husbands)his. The only way he knows anything about me is through her. It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to figure that one out. I’m at the end of my rope. My mother in law especially thinks she is sweet and honest. I’m nervous around his family now because who knows what they believe. I’m shy as it is. Any tips on what to do with this situation. I’ve tried talking to her a bunch of times. Every single time she says, she doesn’t need this and she’s not a bad person. My husband and I love her daughter. If we were to not speak to her we wouldn’t see our niece. Please help!

There is nothing you can do about a devoted liar, the truth is too straight forward for them to understand, their thinking belongs in a different world to anyone else’s, they don’t know what the truth is,and can make up lies on the spur of the moment because to them they carry more impact than the truth. Unfortunately they have some people who can’t visualise anything they say as a lie because they can’t believe anyone could invent anything like it. You can’t deal with them, don’t try, your head will become so confused that you will have the strain of it on your mind 24/7 and it will then be more than you can deal with because of the futility of trying to. Just don’t think about it, have as little as possible contact with them, and treat anything they say the same way as a ducks back treats water.

Stop Smoking Pill – How Does This Fight Withdrawal Symptoms?

Monday, November 23rd, 2009

For some people, taking a pill is easier than using the patch or trying to quit cold turkey. Taking a pill is easy as drinking a glass of water with the medicine. Two popular anti-smoking pills are Zyban and Wellbutrin, with Zyban a top choice as it increases the circulation and release of endorphins by stimulating the pituitary gland.

The endorphins, in turn, boost the energy levels and make a person feel good by creating a sense of false pleasure similar to the one experienced while smoking – the nicotine addiction is what causes this feeling, and will require more and more cigarettes to bring this feeling about. The stop smoking pill is used to negate or reduce the effect of withdrawal symptoms that appear when an individual tries to quit smoking, or nicotine withdrawal. Most of these pills use Bupropion hydrochloride to combat withdrawal symptoms and make the pain less unbearable.

The pill is available in a tablet form and should be taken regularly for at least one-week minimum, which is very important for the drug to begin acting on the body and to become absorbed into the system. The maximum dose prescribed for a single day is two tablets. During the period under the medicine, the individual must consult the doctor regularly to avoid any side effects.

Insomnia and dry mouth are the side effects linked to the tablet but the symptoms are usually not harmful, and will recede after a period of time once you quit. Its normal course will run over 8-12 weeks, with individuals who decide to stop taking Zyban after one or two days, or taking it intermittently, not benefiting from the drug at all. Traces of the drug will be present in the bloodstream for at least a week after quitting.

The drug should be avoided by people who are suffering from stomach disorders like anorexia or bulimia, or can be taken by people who are suffering from bronchitis or other pulmonary disorders. It was initially used for treating depression hence it should not be taken by people who are on medication, especially those who are using monoamine oxidize inhibitors for treating depression.

It has been observed that the drug may lead to seizures or fits in few cases, which is why the drug should be avoided by people who suffer from epileptic fits and seizures. These two medicine should never be used or taken without medical advice or consultation, as they aer very dangerous with medical knowledge.

How can I stop eating so much when I get high?

Tuesday, November 17th, 2009

I live in an area where weed is very cheap and almost legal, so naturally I smoke pretty often and get the WORST munchies. Me and my roommate sometimes finish an entire pizza by ourselves and are still hungry. I’m not getting any fatter because I work out every day and have a fast metabolism, but I feel like I’m eating way too much and it’s unhealthy. Is there any way I can prevent the munchies or distract myself from being hungry?
you guys suck!!! i’m not going to stop smoking. my lungs are fine at the moment and i’m probably more athletic than any of you haters. can i have some real answers please?
OMG fratboy you’re so right!! you’ve changed my life. i’m going to stop smoking RIGHT now.

Well, considering drugs (including weed) are only done by low life losers, you wouldn’t have to worry about eating so much when you get high. Have you thought about stopping and making something of your life? Maybe I’m just stronger because I have made it through life without giving in to the temptations of my past loser friends who attempted to make me try drugs. I decided I was better than that and was not a loser. So, to answer your question, you can stop getting high, which in turn will prevent you from eating so much. Or, if you choose to continue being a loser, then get ready for a bigger scale to stand on.
