Sometimes its easy to forget what a wonderful gift life is until its too late. When you are lying on your death bed and you start to think that life was just too short. It only seemed like yesterday that you had your 10th birthday, when you were in school, when you started your first job. It just seems like a fleeting moment in time, gone in the blink of an eye. Then you wish you has just one more year; just think what you could do in that time? You could go and visit a far off place you always wanted to visit but never got around to it. Maybe you could go and look at a beautiful sunset from an airplane? Maybe you want to experience a total eclipse of the sun. Maybe you want to do something much simpler like smell the roses, feel the raindrops on your face, appreciate the beauty of spring. Maybe you want to tell someone you love them, or that you are sorry. Maybe you want to eat some exotic fruit that you have seen time after time but never bothered to taste it. By this time you are beginning to realize that you have wasted between 10 to 20 years of your life through smoking. Whats more, you paid some £100,000 over your lifetime for the privilege of committing suicide. And for what? For a totally pointless exercise?

I know its easy to become wise when we grow older, but why not do something about your addiction while you are still young and stupid? Read the resources below for more information on how to quit smoking, drinking or taking drugs. Act now before its too late!

Quit Smoking With Hypnosis in Less Than 10 Minutes

Friday, December 25th, 2009

You know you should do it…its part of “the system” and who wants to be part of that. A lot of people are slowly getting “out of the system” due to the knowledge of how awful smoking is for them. This is a good thing. This is not being just a “sheep” following the leader. This is one of the only things that so many people have done, that is a really good chain reaction, and gives me hope that their actually IS the possibility that we can make a GENUINE and POSITIVE SHIFT for the good of the planet and all of mankind. Think about it. Become a non smoker today!!! You may have some urges and cravings, but they are NOTHING compared to the TORTURE and SUFFERING of lung cancer. We all die, but this is NOT a good way to go. Stop NOW!!! My gift to all of you. Gaia O’Dea, your YouTube clinical hypnotherapist. http://www.redesignyourmind.net. Be a happy non smoker, don’t fork over anymore money to the big boys at the tobacco companies. They, for sure, do NOT smoke, they aren’t stupid, don’t you be either. Sure it’s hard to quit for some people, but if you listen to t his video again and again, you can stop. If you want a longer session with me privately, either in person, if you live in the San Diego area, or by phone, which is just as effective, please dont hesitate to contact me through my website @ http://www.redesignyourmind.net. I am VERY affordable and a lot cheaper than all those smokes you spend so much money on. Be Free from the poisons of smoke!!!

What is the best way to stop smoking?

Wednesday, December 23rd, 2009

Don’t use any aids (NRTs, drugs, hobbies…), you don’t need that.
Cold turkey is good – but do it a little differently. You just need sort out your head BEFORE you quit. Trying to do it afterwards is what makes it hard.
Be glad you don’t have to do that anymore – that you are getting rid of this filthy addiction. Never think you will miss it – that’s what makes it hard. But instead see yourself as happy, content and proud that you’ve done it.
If you prepare yourself properly, you can easily override the withdrawal pangs completely and it won’t bother you at all to be in situations or with people where before you smoked. I know that from experience – my partner and plenty of my friends still smoked all around me when I quit – no problems at all!
Here’s what you need to do in very, very short form:
1. Decide that you get nothing out of smoking (it’s only the truth)
2. Pick a quit – date so you have some time to prepare
3. Look forward to quitting (get excited about it) – essential!
4. Quit… easily

opinon about hypnotism?……………?

Thursday, December 17th, 2009

A friend of mine got hypnotized for quitting smoking. She said it actually worked – to my surprise she has infact quit smoking!! I am VERY skeptical about hypnotism. Do you think it works or is it the power of suggestion or someting? Apparently what a hypnotist does is put you in a dream like state kind of like that lucid state you have just before you wake up in the morning – an in that state you are very relaxed but also hyper concentrated – thats why ppl claim to rememver lots of stuff about the past when hypnotized. What do you think?

I will reveal my bias by saying I am a professional hypnotherapist with a master’s degreee in counseling. Actually, many of your speculations about hypnosis are absolutely correct. Hypnosis definitely uses the power of suggestion. It is important to state here that the power of suggestion is used for positive ends, for example, the health benefits of stopping smoking; losing weight when you are a "slave" to cravings for food, even when you are not physically hungry; helping people to exercise when they haven’t done so for decades, etc.

In these cases, hypnosis uses the power of suggestions for positive goals. Imagine someone coming into my office who is extremely tense all the time and his blood pressure is dangerously high. One thing I could do is help him to relax his body and mind. Then I could take him on an imaginary voyage to a sunny beach or to a beautiful rain forest, etc. He relaxes and, over time, his blood pressure gradually returns to normal. (Of course, medication may also be needed.) I have worked with medical doctors, not against them.

The best thing about the imaginary voyage is that the client can learn in a few sessions to use self-hypnosis. Then 7 days a week (if he wants to) the client can travel to an imaginary paradise, like a beach or the mountains by him- or herself.

Again you are right when you say a hypnotist puts you in a dream like state. However, I would put it differently. The hypnotist helps the client to go into a state of deep relaxation. Again, in a few sessions, the client can relax himself as often as needed without having to rely on the hypnotist or having to overeat, smoke cigarettes, or drink alcohol to relax.

Yes, you’re right—people get very relaxed and sometimes they hyper concentrate. There is a misconception that people are asleep or nearly asleep whie hypnotized. In truth, a hypnotized person can hear the sound of a dog barking nearby, a car passing down the street, etc. Depending on the form of hypnosis, a client can stand up, can talk intelligently, respond to questions, etc.

When you say hyper concentrated, you remind me of a hypnotic state called hypermnesia (the opposite of amnesia). A client can remember events from long ago or can recall more recent painful events. In some cases, forensic hypnotherapists can sometimes help a witness recall the license plate of a car that hit the witness.

The only problem in therapy is that some of these recalled memories should not be taken literally. A patient may report that his/her father abused him, when such was not the case. The "abuse" may be a gross exaggeration of one event in which the parent and son or daughter had an argument.

I could write at great length about your questions, but I hope I have clarified the role of a hypnotism, at least a little. By the way, there are good hypnotists and bad ones, just as there are good cops and bad cops, good doctors and bad ones, etc. I wish you well.

What do you think of the first chapter of my book?

Wednesday, December 16th, 2009

I wrote this as the first chapter to a book I would like to write. Please, don’t feel the need to be nice. I can take criticism.

1—Hypnotism?
How do we know this whole thing isn’t one big hypnotism? Here, I think I’m sitting on my friend’s roof hiding from her dad, since he doesn’t know I’m living here. What if I’m really on stage entertaining an audience? Wouldn’t that be nice? I wouldn’t be living here—in secret—because my mom kicked me out due to my being an 18-year-old alcoholic, drug addict who can’t manage to keep her ass out of jail. “For my next trick, she’ll turn her life around.” Oh, I wish it could just be that easy. Sorry, that was probably just the three bowls of chronic thinking.
What about later when I buy another eight ball? For those of you reading this who aren’t “drug educated,” that’s meth. It can also be other “powders,” but in my case and for the sake of this story, it’s crank, glass, ice, speed. Who am I kidding? It’s meth. It doesn’t make it better to give it a cooler name. That’s not hypnotism, I do it.
What about when I have Larry drop by the liquor store to buy me another bottle tomorrow morning? Isn’t it so pathetic? I have him buy it in the morning so I can be drunk by noon and not care that I’m technically homeless. For now, that’ll be my excuse for drinking. Later it’ll be because someone pissed me off. Then, who knows what reason I’ll have. I always seem to find one. That’s not hypnotism, I live it.
There I go again. I tell myself that I wish it would be easy to quit… while I’m doing exactly what I don’t want to be doing—smoking pot on the roof waiting for my next chance to score better drugs and more alcohol. I’m not belittling the fact that it’s extremely hard to quit. I just think it would be a lot easier if I did more than say that I want to. That’s not hypnotism, I hate it.
How does it all start? I keep trying to ask myself how I got into it. I know that it started with smoking. It really is a “gateway.” Though, that usually means marijuana. My “gateway” was cigarettes. I loved the nicotine high, so I started chasing something better. I got it. I smoked Afghan-Chronic my very first time.
Mind you, marijuana is not addictive. It’s just very habit-forming. You don’t know what to do when you’re not getting high. Nothing is ever the same afterwards; no color is quite as vibrant, no noise is quite as amazing, no text message takes quite as long to send— time goes by a lot faster when you’re sober— no pizza ever tastes quite as delicious. You get the point. It’s not that it’s addictive; it’s that it is so amazing.
I don’t know what happened. I heard that THC was a mild form of Acid and I decided I needed to try that. I was too scared to hallucinate, so I chickened out. The guy said, “That’s okay. Try this instead.” He used his credit card to make two lines. He did the first one as a demonstration and I followed suit. I came to find out later—when I was begging for more—it was meth. I was 16 and it was exactly what my mom didn’t want me to be doing. Naturally, I loved it.
When you go to a lot of parties, you start to drink. Aside from the time that I have been in juvie-hall and jail, I haven’t gone a day without a drink since my 16th birthday. I’m not proud of it, but that’s pretty much who I am. The second time I went to jail (and my fourth alcohol ticket) my mom told me not to bother coming home.
That’s how I got on this roof, smoking this chronic, hiding from Mariah’s dad, thinking about whether or not I’m hypnotized. I’ve been sleeping on their couch, but I have to be out by 6 AM—when he gets up for work—and can’t be in later than 10—when he locks the door. When he is home, if I have nowhere to be, I sit on the roof. It’s already 11, so I have to sit here until I’m tired and then quietly go back through her brother, TJ’s, window and down to the couch. Their dad, Bryin, is pretty much the only person who doesn’t know what’s happening.
That’s mostly true. They think I’ve stopped drinking, smoking, and doing drugs all together. That’s kind of a laugh to me. As badly as I want to stop, I don’t think I ever will. I’ve cut back a lot. I haven’t snorted the wonderful powder for almost two days. I know that sounds pathetic, but try going through withdrawals and being homeless. It doesn’t work, so I don’t try to make it.
I’ve considered just asking if we can have a “sleepover” so that I can go through the withdrawals on their couch and get it over with. I really would like to stop with the crank. I want to have a respectable job and a family one day. That’s not exactly a drug-friendly dream.
Back to my question… How do we know this isn’t just one big hypnotism? For that matter, it could just be a long dream, or a hallucination. What if I’m mentally insane and just sitting at a coffee shop mumbling incoherently to myself, all the while thinking I’m leading a life? Not a good one, but a life nonetheless. I would have a crowd of people gathered around trying to

good….some grammatical errors but otherwise, keep it up.
