how can i stop my friends taking/smoking drugs?

Monday, January 18th, 2010

Get this surefire method for ending smoking once and for all easily Ending Smoking now. Thank-You for visiting!

my freinds live in a different city compared to me and where they live people commonly smoke weed. but i dont agree with them doing this i think is silly and pointless and me and one of the other boys wants them to stop for the basic reason theres no point!! there age range is 11-15 (scary right)
so how can i get them to stop there not even adicted they just think its cool!! :@

If they think its cool then its a phase. Smoking weed doesn’t actually have an serious side effects to it because most of the stuff out on the streets is other crap, but the smoking in the long run could cause lung cancer, but its a free country its their choice and unfortunately not always can one influence a whole group of people. Just let them know you don’t stand by them and you don’t consider it to be cool and your not going to conform (join in), just to feel ‘part of the group’. It’s pretty sad if you ask me though, because theres nothing cool in smoking. You get dirty smokers coughs and smell of stale fags…Attractive (N)

Do you think its harder to lose weight or to stop smoking?

Monday, January 18th, 2010

I try to convince my husband to stop smoking because its scares the crap out of me. He’s been smoking since he was 15 and he is now 29. Its going to kill him while he’s still young and that really scares me bad. He wants to quit but I can only imagine how hard it is because I have tried for my entire life to lose these 20 extra pounds to no avail. We are trying the nicotine replacements, but it reminds of diet pills as a quick fix that doesn’t work. Any insight or suggestions would be useful. Thank you.

Wow! Yes, this is a VERY difficult situation you are both dealing with! I can totally relate because I myself am 26 and have smoked since I was 13. I have recently quit smoking, but I am also very overweight. I don’t really have any solid advice to give to you except that your boyfriend is absolutely doing the right thing by quitting smoking. It will surely help prolong his life. If I had to choose though, I would say that they are equally tough things to beat. Good luck!

Stop effective ways to stop smoking permenantly?

Monday, January 18th, 2010

Ok am 16 years old ( almost ) and i’ve been smoking like forever since 13 if am not mistaken and its doing some great damage on me any effective ways to stop smoking? :[

Recently my wife and I decided we should quit smoking. We tried almost everything but finally we found these new electronic cigarettes. They are fantastic, and as we order new cartridges we are lowering the amount of nicotine we smoke, hopefully we will be able to be off it soon. It seems to be working pretty well and I’m not feeling any negative effects, and I love the taste. The cost might seem pretty steep up front, but I go over the math on my blog, and in the long run (In under a month) you are actually saving money. As a couple we are saving almost $300 a month by switching over. I put up a blog chronicling our adventure if anyone wants to read at http://www.quitcigs.us.tt

Natural Cure for Sinus Infection

Monday, January 11th, 2010

Having sinusitis can be such a hassle. It can drastically affect your daily routine, as it makes you uncomfortable and painful all day and all night. Imagine not being able to perform effectively at work due to severe headaches. Or not being able to enjoy time with your kids because of fatigue. And even as you sleep, sinusitis symptoms can still haunt you in your dreams.

Sinusitis generally means that your sinuses are infected or inflamed. The cause may be bacterial, fungal or viral in nature. It can also be brought about by other conditions such as asthma, rhinitis and cystic fibrosis. Some of the common symptoms include the following:
•    Runny nose with green or yellow discharge
•    Nasal congestion due to excess mucus
•    Headache, toothache and facial pain
•    Fever
•    Fatigue
•    Coughing
•    Sore throat and difficulty in swallowing

You do not have to endure the pain and discomfort brought about by sinusitis. Fortunately, there are lots of ways to cure sinusitis.

When you are experiencing the symptoms mentioned, it is highly advisable to consult your doctor at once to prevent complications. Antibiotics are often prescribed if the sinus infection is caused by bacteria. Antihistamines and decongestants are helpful for infection resulting from allergies. For pain relief, paracetamol and ibuprofen can be taken to ease pain.

However, these medicines are not long term solutions. Some drugs may have long-term negative effects on your body if used for a long period of time. Also, they tend to lose effectiveness when taken frequently, particularly antibiotics. So it is advisable to keep use of drug medications to a minimum. Still the best cure is by doing it naturally. Below are natural sinus remedies that you can try at home:

1.    Drink plenty of water and other fluids such as juices, tea and soups. It is important to keep the body hydrated to help thin the mucus.
2.    Eat healthy. Take in foods that are rich in antioxidants, such as tomatoes, garlic, broccoli and red grapes. These foods help boost the immune system and prevent infection. Stay away from dairy products when you have an infection as studies show that they may cause more mucus to form.
3.    Treat common colds as soon as you get it to prevent it from developing into an infection. Get plenty of rest and use zinc supplements to get rid of colds.
4.    Try steam treatment to keep mucus loose. Applying hot compress to your face also helps to keep the sinuses open.
5.    Try nasal irrigation. It is helpful in clearing out excess mucus and other irritants in the nose.
6.    Adopt a healthy lifestyle. Stop smoking as it irritates the inflamed mucus membranes. Avoid alcohol as it can cause more swelling in the sinus. Exercise regularly.

Always remember to be vigilant and monitor your body for any changes. Do not wait for your condition to worsen before getting professional help. When you see the signs of an infection, consult your doctor as soon as possible and learn about the proper course of treatment that you can apply.

This composition is projected to inform readers about Sinusitis-Home-Remedy. For more topics about treating your sinusitis you can visit Sinusitis – Sinus Dynamics.

Smoking Bans – Which Product is Best to Cope With Nicotine Cravings?

Monday, January 11th, 2010

Smoking bans are becoming more frequent and there are many smoking bans that are in place especially in the festive season.

Let’s look at some easy ways to cope with smoking bans and nicotine cravings. There are some products you will have heard of and some new ones you may not have. Lets look at which is best.

Smoking bans are everywhere!

On planes, in the workplace, in pubs, restaurants and in when as guests in other peoples houses and there are many other places where smokers are prevented from lighting up

So how do smokers satisfy their nicotine cravings when they cant or do not wish to smoke?

Here we are going to look at the alternatives some well known and some new ones.

Nicotine cravings kick in when you can’t smoke and many smokers find this feeling hell – Don’t worry though there are many ways to help.

There are many nicotine products that can used at times when you simply choose not to smoke or cant smoke.

1. Nicotine Patches:

Are attached to the body and give nicotine in measured doses to the wearer. They look like over sized plasters and are very popular with those trying to cope as you put them on and forget about them.

2. Nicotine Gum

A chewing gum with doses of nicotine in various strengths. They are another popular but you must like chewing!

3. Inhalers or puffers

These allow smokers to inhale a specific dose of nicotine whenever the cravings occur.

4. Nicotine water

This is simply water with nicotine and no other chemicals and is a new product and is gaining in popularity. Not a stop smoking aid it was created to allow smokers to get nicotine when subject to a ban, or when smokers simply don’t wish to smoke.

Smokers can drink the water, get nicotine and hydrate themselves at the same time (as we all need water) and it’s convenient.

The best product to take when subject to a smoking ban is very much down to choice – all deliver nicotine outside of smoking.

Now:

While were looking at smoking bans – it is a good idea to look at why nicotine does you no harm and may do you good when your not taking it in cigarettes.

This will encourage more people to use the above products and may even see them stop smoking altogether when they know the truth about nicotine.

Many people don’t want to take nicotine outside of cigarettes but there is no reason not as it can knock the craving down.

Nicotine outside of cigarettes will do you no harm at all – It’s some of the other 4,000 chemicals that are the killers not nicotine.

Fact: Nicotine is NOT a cause of disease or death

While Nicotine is responsible for the addictive nature of cigarette smoking, in organic form it actually does not cause disease, it’s the other chemicals in cigarettes that do that.

Nicotine is it good for you? Read the facts

In fact, Nicotine is a naturally occurring compound and is actually found in common foods and vegetables including potatoes, tomatoes, bell peppers, cauliflower, eggplant, and chili peppers.

In its natural state, and when ingested through the digestive system in organic form, nicotine is safe and non-toxic.

In fact it is the subject of intense medical research due to its health properties it is known to lift mood, help us concentrate better and improve memory.

This can help with a variety of diseases from Attention disorders to depression to Parkinson’s and Altzeimer’s disease.

Which ever product you choose, be aware that there is no shame in taking nicotine outside of cigarettes.

It can help you cut down, make cravings easier to tolerate and may eventually help you give up.
