The Best Way To Stop Smoking

Saturday, July 24th, 2010

There really is no best way to stop smoking. The only “best way” is for the smoker to say, “I really, really want to quit smoking” and actually mean it. The twp main things every one else can offer is support and advice. As a smoker, be clear about why you want to quit when you listen to their advice and support, listing as many reasons as you can, and then making a plan to accomplish your goal. On the list of why you want to quit, try to include achieving better health and fitness, wanting to live longer, less risk of cancer and heart disease, no nicotine stained fingers or teeth, better smelling breath, healthier babies and setting examples for the family, healthier skin with fewer wrinkles, increased budget income, etc.

We need to prepare ourselves mentally by setting an actual date we are going to quit. Make it a special day, a day of personal achievement – it can be our birthday or anniversary; a holiday or one of our children’s birthdays; and can also be on No Smoking Day, the second Wednesday of every March. It really does not matter, as long as it means something to us. Reducing our smoking without setting a date to quit may not work, because our smoking is likely to increase once again. Be aware of the fact that it is easy to give in to temptation and start smoking again, especially when we are tense and upset. We stand to lose all that we have gained, if we have one single cigarette. And then we will have to start all over again.

Making a plan is easy – sticking to it is something else. If we were serious about wanting to quit smoking, we would follow it to the “T” – and hope to achieve our goal, by knowing what to expect and preparing ourselves to face the withdrawal symptoms. Most people find the first few days as the most difficult, with things becoming better after the first three or four days. Nicotine withdrawal symptoms may include irritation, restlessness, frustration, sleeplessness, and being “fumbly stumbly” accident-prone.

To curb these withdrawals and ease the distress, use NRT, or nicotine replacement therapy, in the form of gum, patches, lozenges, inhalers, etc. that can double our chances of success, by reducing the intensity of our cravings. Go to counseling and behavior therapy classes. Use Nicotinell, Nicorette and NiQuitin CQ as some of the nicotine product aids. Another option is to use the drug Zyban, which is available on prescription. All of these aids are available.

Regardless which NRT method we use, we need to find something to do and stay as busy as possible, to take the place of smoking. Games, woodwork, online surveys, taking extra adult classes, volunteering at literary workshops, etc. We can drink a lot of water, tea, or juice, or chew gum. Whatever we enjoy doing should be approached at this time. Try to stay busy doing what we like. To avoid weight gain that usually accompanies quitting smoking, try not to grab food instead of a cigarette, and if you do – change your diet by grabbing raw vegetables and lots of fruit, drink lots of juices and water, avoid alcohol, and exercise much more.

Avoid situations where we may be tempted to smoke such as bars, nightclubs, hotels, and certain eating establishments. All of this is common sense, but when we are in the withdrawal mode, we do not think, we react only to the pain and distress our body is going through. Care for it gently, by compensating these feelings with something health and pleasurable. Family and friends will support you to deal with nicotine withdrawal symptoms if you let them.

The Best Way to Stop Smoking – 2 Essential Methods You Must Use to Quit Smoking

Friday, July 9th, 2010

*** Do Not Quit Smoking! Click Here ***

Here’s a fast fact: smoking is definitely bad for you. There’s no other way to see it. It is addictive, it’s poison, it makes you smell bad – bottom line is that it destroys you. So now you are wondering, what could you possibly do to stop smoking?

There are numerous ways to do so, but then, the best way to stop smoking all lies within you. No matter what method you try, when there is no determination from within, there will be no results to reap. With an inner motivation pushing you to stop, there will most likely be success. Here are two of the best ways to stop smoking that you might want to try in your determination to stop:

• Use replacements. You know how smoking can be addictive – that darn nicotine! So to satisfy your cravings for a stick at the moment, you use nicotine replacement products such as patches or gum. View it like an artificial sweetener for diabetics – it’s the same principle.

• Use productive distraction. Face it, everything you do will remind you of smoking. So find a hobby or something that interests you a lot that you won’t be thinking about smoking. Keeping your focus (real focus) on something makes you forget about smoking. Increasing physical exercise works too, like develop a habit for jogging.

Other methods may be effective, but it involves drug medications and other unnatural products. Just remember that perseverance and determination is the key to achieving a successful lifetime of being smoke-free.

The Author recommends that you DO NOT Quite Smoking. There’s a healthier alternative to it. To know more, please click here.

Best Way To Stop Smoking – It Is Time You Knew About It

Sunday, July 4th, 2010

Are you one of those millions of smokers who have made a very solid determination about quitting the smoking habit, but does not know really how to go about it? It is a common problem – the decision of choosing the best of hundreds of stop smoking methods. In fact, this decision can actually be so difficult to take that many smokers have simply given up their plan of quitting and have gone ahead with their addiction. Quite a sorry state, if you ask me.

The problem gets compounded if the smoker is saddled with dubious methods such as using nicotine patches, nicotine gums or any other kind of nicotine replacement therapy. The fact is, though these methods are immensely popular today, they are by no means the best way to stop smoking at all. How can using a nicotine supplement help you to wean away from a nicotine addiction? The manufacturers of these products might put forth several arguments about how their products work, but the fact remains that these things cannot eradicate the smoking habit at all. Even if there are positive results intially, there is a big probability that the smoker will revert back to smoking when their effects wear off.

Going to the doctor is also not a very good solution. Who would like their body to be pumped with antidepressants all the time? Sooner than you think, you might get addicted to the antidepressants themselves, even if the cigarette addiction has passed away. And, practically speaking, no one likes to be on medication for a long period of time.

This is why the prevailing stop smoking methods usually fail and the smokers, who had once made a full-fledged decision about not smoking, come back to their addiction. And life goes on as before. I am referring to the devastating life full of cigarette smoke and invitation to hundreds of diseases.

But all hope is not lost. Whatever is mentioned above about the other stop smoking methods is cent percent true, but there is one method that guarantees you positive results and it is a wonderfully safe method also. I am talking about the herbal remedies that have become so popular for smoking cessation. Though not medically quite approved yet, everyone knows herbs are safe, and their effectiveness is adjudged by the simple fact that they have been in use since centuries. Today, a very large number of herbal formulations have been prepared in order to help smokers in their fight against the addiction.

Some of these formulations contain extremely potent herbs like St. Johns Wort, kava kava, cinnamon, chamomile, etc. Each of these herbs have proven effectiveness against the smoking habit. Some of them – like lobelia – can actually make nicotine taste so bad that the smoker will be forced to give up the addiction. Herbs like St. Johns Wort and chamomile are very effective as antidepressants. They would help the smoker to keep away from the painful and distressing withdrawal symptoms of giving up smoking.

But the most important thing to remember is that herbal remedies are totally safe and they work for everyone. Not only will they keep the addiction away, but they will also remove the toxins from the body that have collected since years of smoking. And they act pretty fast too. A carefully prepared herbal remedy like SmokeRX can begin showing effects in as less as a week, giving no scope for the smoker to get demoralized and return back to smoking. All this simply goes to prove that the herbal remedy is certainly the best way to stop smoking today.

Want to quit smoking? Try the amazing all herbal stop smoking tablets which actually help you quit in just 7 days. SmokeRx is the best way quit smoking and to quit smoking guaranteed. Hugely successful in USA. Forget nicotine patches, gum and sprays. Why fill your body with nicotine when you want to get rid of it? All herbal SmokeRx works. We guarantee it.

A lot of smokers have kicked the habit using less traditional methods. Some of these methods include hypnosis, aromatherapy, or acupuncture. One of the newest ways to stop smoking is an alternative method known as Neuro-Linguistic-Programming or NLP. NLP is a form of psychotherapy that has been practiced for many years.

Why is NLP one of the best ways to stop smoking? NLP has shown to be an excellent method for helping people to break unwanted habits. Choose the Best Way For You to Quit Smoking

Friday, June 25th, 2010

<!– @page { margin: 0.79in } P { margin-bottom: 0.08in } –>

Why do we always think of quitting smoking as an impossible mission?

Even if it seemed hard, it’s pretty clear that smoking cigarettes threatens a huge number of the lives of its smokers by causing a lot of health problems to those people. Some people who try to quit do so by trying to uproot the smoking habit all of a sudden, but this is actually a wrong strategy to quit smoking. This is because Nicotine is addicted when heavily smoked. For this reason, Nicotine Replacement Therapy (NRT) is made to ease the process of quitting smoking. Of course this is not the only way to quit smoking but it’s one of the most effective ways to make it yet it has a lot of disadvantages.

Nicotine Replacement Therapy depends on products and medications found in pharmacies, using Nicotine as a main component. If you used to smoke heavily like 10 cigarettes per day, you’ll have to take a high dose of the medication which is 21mg, moving to 14mg then a 7mg.

There are many disadvantages of the Nicotine Replacement Test among which are that when you get treated by NRT you’re being given nicotine directly to your body, and that affects your health badly.

So, it would be better if you had a chance to uproot Nicotine from your body instead of continuing to use it, may be you could try other strategies that don’t rely on Nicotine intake to stop smoking, one of these natural strategies is hypnosis. A number of cigarette smokers tried the hypnosis strategy and it worked, although it wasn’t quite a 100% success rate. There have been a lot of disagreements on the effectiveness of using hypnotherapy.

Statistically comparing the previous methods, it was found out that hypnotherapy worked out with about 66% of smokers, whereas a 25% success for NRT. In other reports, they compared between smokers used hypnotherapy or NRT as a treatment, it was shown that people who used hypnotherapy succeeded to be non smokers for the 6 months following the treatment in comparison to those who used NRT as a treatment.

So, when you decide to pick up hypnotherapy as your choice to quit smoking, you have to visit an experienced hypnotherapist, make sure that you trust him and feel comfortable with him, as it doesn’t depend only on certifications and theoretical knowledge. For example if your therapist told you that you only need one session to quit smoking, probably this man must be kidding or he’s not the one to trust.

Finally when you begin your hypnotherapy, there are three levels of hypnosis…Gentle & moderate levels are used to stop smoking, while the highest level is used by psychiatrists. The process goes like this: You’re being hypnotized by a psychiatrist and they will use your unconscious mind to receive some ‘recommendations’, which will help you to refuse your desire to smoke later on. The idea is that it will make your mind give you orders to lead a healthier life free of Nicotine.
