Hypnosis is by far the easiest way to stop smoking. I know it’s a bold statement, but there is a very good reason behind it.

You see smoking is much more of a psychological addiction than a physical addiction. You might think that it is your body that craves for cigarettes when you don’t smoke. But if you really think about it, you will realize that it is your mind that makes your body think that it needs cigarettes.

Confused?

Let me rephrase that. It is your mind that associates cigarettes with your day to day activity. And when you realize that you don’t have a cigarette when you are doing your usual activities like drinking coffee, then it sends a signal to your body saying that there should be a cigarette. This is because according to your sub conscious mind, that is the normal procedure of your activity. You drink coffee, you take a puff.

Drinking coffee is just one example, in our long life as a smoker, we sub consciously associate cigarettes with almost every activity that we do. Driving, eating food, talking on the phone, reading a book, hanging out with friends, having a soda, drinking; you name it.

And that is why it becomes very difficult for a person to quit smoking. Whenever they do any of the things associated with cigarettes, which is inevitable, they feel an intense craving for cigarettes.

Now for a person with a very strong will power, it may be easy to quit smoking without hypnosis. But for a normal person, this constant fighting with your own mind and your own desires is harder than fighting in a ring with Mike Tyson. OK maybe not Mike Tyson, but you know what I mean.

“The Easy Way To Stop Smoking” – does such a thing exist? Two weeks ago, I would have told you “no!”

From everyone I had heard from who had tried to quit smoking, it was the hardest thing in the world. Most had tried multiple times to quit smoking but kept going back to it, especially when something bad or stressful would happen in their lives.

The only people I had heard of who were able to quit smoking easily were my grandfather – who only smoked a pipe… and my roommate in college – who only smoked at parties. I didn’t think it was possible for a regular “full time smoker” to find and easy way to stop smoking because of all the physical withdrawal symptoms that their body would go through as an effect of getting the nicotine out of their system.

But then, I was surprised to hear about a Stop Smoking program that had a 97% success rate. And the people who went through the program were able to quit in 7 days without all of the usual headaches and cravings that seem to be part of the quitting smoking process for many people.

I don’t know all the quit smoking statistics, but I would guess that a success rate like that is higher than most smoking cessation programs.

Even if you take all the stop smoking aids like the nicotine gum and patches… I feel like you just get addicted to those instead of to cigarettes.

To me, it makes sense to find out what other people are doing who have stopped smoking successfully and then duplicate their success.
