Why Should You Stop Smoking Cigarette

Sunday, September 5th, 2010

A loser once said ‘To stop smoking cigarette is not difficult; I have done it several times!’ Facts – The cigarette is actually a carefully designed product and designed in such a way as to make the smoking process as palatable as possible. Also, the tobacco leaf part of the cigarette is actually composed of two main leaf types, one which has higher nicotine content than the other. These are therefore basically very tricky ways so the cigarette can have a magnet-like effect on you, the steel smoker. It thus proves that you are only wise to stop smoking cigarette.

Even though volumes of literature are available on how and why to stop smoking cigarette seems like it still never inspires enough. It is alarming that the world has tobacco as the third reason for highest number of deaths! An estimated one in every five deaths in the world occurs due to tobacco use.

The good news is however slowly coming in majority of developed countries, health and beauty consciousness is pushing people to give up the dreadful practice.Smoking is the single biggest avoidable menace to good health. It causes infertility and impotence besides narrowing and hardening arteries.

The impish act is also responsible for paralytic stroke, brain haemorrhage, angina, heart attack, chronic bronchitis, ulcers, cancer, etc. Nicotine is a drug that is present naturally in the tobacco leaf. In higher doses, nicotine like any other addictive drugs including heroin and cocaine is a recipe to kill. Nicotine has a powerful effect on the brain and the central nervous system. It causes an increase in the heart rate and in the rate of breathing – thereby making the heart work harder.

Smoking is killing more people every year than all other drugs and alcohol habits combined.Non-smokers who are exposed to smoke suffer more than the smokers themselves because of passive smoking. The spreading of this fact is partially helping by forcing smokers to stop smoking cigarette among crowds or gatherings.

Nicotine is a harmful drug that takes you high and then drops you flat. It makes you want more. It gets you hooked. Then you get into real trouble. Trouble such as it makes the brain tissues sluggish, dull, numb and inactive making the person incompetent for brain work. Finally, there can be no more affirmative ways of explaining the reasons for anyone to stop smoking cigarette.

Stop smoking today with the help of Smoke Deter Herbel Supplment.

Stop Smoking Programs – What Should I Look For When Picking A Quit Smoking Program?

Sunday, August 29th, 2010

When you are considering a program to quit smoking, it is important to understand some of the methods in which it touches base on, helping you understand the problems that you will face when you give up smoking and how to cope with them.

Not only is your own will and determination important, but the caring and support of those around you when things get rough. Some of the best stop-smoking programs include counseling, both individually or in groups, and therapy.

The therapy is different from counseling as it is in reference to the individual and how they are responding to quitting smoking. It is decided on the basis of an individual’s health, for which a smoker is required to undergo a full medical check up.

Most of these stop-smoking programs are normally spread over a period of 2 weeks. During this period, trained counselors conduct anywhere from four to seven sessions, the duration of which ranges from 20 to 30 minutes. The duration of the total program or the sessions can be modified based on the needs of the participating group and the individual involved. The programs are invariably led by people who have had considerable experience in assisting people give up smoking.

One excellent group that runs such programs is Nicotine Anonymous, which works on the same principles as Alcoholics Anonymous. Like AA, smokers can attend all meetings free of cost and have a continuous support group on a weekly basis. The American Lung Association, Health Department, and American Cancer Society also sponsor such free programs and support groups for smokers who are trying to quit smoking.

There are so many programs to choose from in regard to quitting smoking, it is best to research how legitimate they are before joining. It is never easy to quit anything, but smoking seems to be one of the worst. Looking around at all the programs, realize what you will be up against – being honest with yourself – while also looking at the options should be carefully done before beginning.

It is pretty hard to be objective about an addictive drug that is present in the body about three or four days after quitting the nicotine, but to be truthful and honest about what is going to happen and what it will take to successfully quit is what it takes.

However, before joining any such program, you need to do some research. You must avoid programs that are not ethical, or programs that use injections or pills as the only method of treatment. The programs that refuse to disclose details of the chemicals used in injections must surely be shunned. So should be those programs that charge high fees or promise instant results.

And most of all, you must remember that it takes time and patience to give up smoking. Most smokers have been at it for quite awhile, and won’t be able to quit overnight. But once you do, food will taste better and your sense of smell will be back to normal. Shortness of breath will be gone, and you will return to better health. Join a program that is well planned and willing to help you on a long-term basis for a major future goal.

Should You Stop Smoking? (Part 2)

Saturday, August 28th, 2010

Why is it so difficult to stop smoking? To stop smoking is difficult because of the nicotine. The nicotine is as addictive as the worst drugs, and it is a product that is a natural part of the tobacco.

With the course of the time, the smoker becomes physical and psychologically addict to the nicotine, and to be able to stop smoking he needs to be liberated from both dependences.

Every time that you smoke, the nicotine penetrates the lungs and from there it goes to the sanguine torrent that carries it to the whole body, it does not only affect the lungs but also the heart, the circulatory system, the hormonal system, the metabolism, the brain, the maternal milk, the amniotic liquid, the placenta and the babies of the pregnant ones.

As all drugs, the nicotine produces a pleasure sensation, and it is this sensation the one that makes the person want to smoke again, and to need more cigarettes as it affects nervous system (what of course increases the nicotine quantity in blood). Finally, once achieved a high level of nicotine in blood, the smoker needs to smoke to maintain that level.

When a vicious one tries to abandon the drug from which he depends, it suffers what is known as the abstinence syndrome. This syndrome is characterized by diverse physical and psychological symptoms.

Psychologically the smoker feels that he lacks something, it has suffered a strong change in his behavior, and for that reason sometimes to feel better, he needs to substitute the real cigarettes with plastic cigarettes and other things.

Physically, when stopping to smoke they can feel many different symptoms like:

Irritation

Anxiety

Lack of concentration

Depression

Insomnia

Headaches

Fatigue

Appetite increase

Regarding the appetite increase, I need to highlight that it is more a myth that a consequence, since in those cases that the appetite increases, the increase that takes place is really light, and it disappears in little time.

When the symptoms of the abstinence syndrome come, if the person lacks enough motivation and doesn’t practice some kind of anxiety control, he starts smoking again, until he recovers enough nicotine to do not feel those symptoms.

How much is it necessary to smoke so that the abstinence symptoms come? It is enough with having smoked a significant quantity during some weeks

When will the symptoms be presented? The symptoms will be presented a few hours after having smoked the last cigarette, and they will reach their intensity pick in 2 to 3 days.

How much time can we have abstinence symptoms? This depends on each person and of the quantity of nicotine in blood that each person has gotten used, but the physical symptoms usually last from some days to several weeks, while the psychological symptoms can last during several years.

The Passive Smokers

The addicts to the tobacco not only poison and mortgage their own lives, but rather they also produce a serious contamination of the environment, and they put in risk the health of those who surround them.

The mothers that smoke have high possibilities to have children with asthma, especially if they smoke during the pregnancy. And they also have bigger risk of having smoking children, and children with sudden death, otitis, colds and bronchitis.

Should You Stop Smoking? (Part 4)

Monday, August 23rd, 2010

There are many methods to stop smoking, and among the better known ones I can mention:

1. the acupuncture

2. the magneto therapy

3. the hypnosis

4. the mind control

To which should be added the necessary psychological support to face the abstinence syndrome.

And that can be carried out with:

1. Psychotherapy

2. Relaxation and Mind Control

3. Help to the smoker phone lines

4. Family Support

5. Friends

6. Programs to stop to smoke

And possibly a therapy will be needed for the substitution of the nicotine with nicotine substitutes like:

1. Nicotine chewing gums (they can be bought without recipe)

2. Nicotine Patches (they can be bought without recipe)

3. Nicotine Pills (they can be bought without recipe)

4. Aerosols (recipe is required)

5. Inhalers (recipe is required)

When is it the best moment to begin a nicotine substitution therapy? The best moment to begin a nicotine substitution therapy, is when you begin to stop smoking.

What nicotine substitute is better? The statistic gathered so far don’t indicate that anyone is better than the other ones, the substitute that you must choose depends on your choice and habits, but it is important to highlight that all present some kind of inconveniences, reason why even when you choose one of those that don’t require recipe, it is always advisable to consult a doctor, who might even prescribe you some antidepressant, besides the nicotine substitute.

But repeating what I already said before, to be able to stop smoking, it is necessary to have knowledge about what the tobacco addiction implies (this web page has been written for it), and it is also needed help and an appropriate motivation.

If you decide to stop smoking it is good that you remember what Mark Twain said: “To stop to smoke is easy, I have already done it a thousand times”

For that reason, if you want to stop to smoke and you don’t want to go through Mark’s experience, you should know that a sudden and strong desire to smoke, can be presented months or years after having abandoned the bad habit, and to be able to overcome it without falling again in the claws of the nicotine, you need to know that:

Just as it happens to an alcoholic that can not take neither a single glass of alcohol without relapsing, you can not smoke neither a single cigarette without running the risk of falling again in the bad habit. And you can not even practice a single inhalation without putting in danger all that you have gotten

Review the reasons that have taken you to leave that bad habit, and the benefits that you have found for you and your family, and continue enjoying the pleasant sensation of knowing that you are a man that has conquered itself.

What Do You Need To Stop Smoking

A plan to stop smoking is only successful if it contemplates three aspects:

1. You should know very well what is it to be tobacco addict, and which are its consequences.

2. You need a training or help to face the abstinence.

3. You need to be absolutely motivated when attempting it

If one of these three aspects is not contemplated, the plan has few probabilities of success. The percentage of people that are able to stop smoking by their own means is of only 5%, reason why it is always convenient that you accept the help of the ones that know how to do it.

Another thing that will increase the success possibilities, is that you supplement your plan with some substitution system as chewing gums, nicotine patches or antidepressants (if the doctor prescribes them)

Keep in mind that the strong desire to smoke will be more intense the first days after leaving the cigarette, but it will diminish every week, and to the fourth month you will hardly feel it.

Get Motivated to Quit Smoking ? 5 Good Reasons Why You Should

Sunday, July 25th, 2010

Nicotine is an incredibly addictive substance and once you have started the smoking habit it is a very difficult one to break. Sometimes however, it’s not just the cravings that make it hard but the general lack of motivation to stop in the first place.

With this in mind here are 5 good reasons to get you motivated to quit and help you towards a healthier and more rewarding life…

1 – Look after yourself and considerably reduce the risk of serious, often fatal diseases such as heart attack and stroke.

2 – Enjoy your life more by having much more cardiovascular stamina to do the activities that you enjoy even if this is just playing in the park with your children for instance.

3 – Smell better. The smell of smoke gets everywhere, on your skin, on your clothes, in your hair and it even permeates the furnishings in your house.

4 – Take more control over your life. Have you ever driven half way to work only to have to turn around because you have forgotten to bring your cigarettes?

5 – Just think of all the money that you will save by quitting. Use the money to buy new clothes, treat your partner, upgrade your computer, treat yourself to a nice meal in a fancy restaurant more often or put it towards a family vacation. The list is endless and it’s surprising just how quickly the money can mount up.

Of course these are just some of the reasons why you should quit smoking but I hope that they have given you the motivation to at least give it a shot.

Quit Smoking Timeline – Why You Should Not Create a Timeline For Quitting Smoking

Friday, July 2nd, 2010

*** Do Not Quit Smoking! Click Here ***

Many people ask what the timeline for quitting smoking is. They want to know if there is a number of days, weeks, or months that they have to go through before they no longer feel the urge to smoke. Then there are the people that decide that they are going to set their own timeline for themselves. They will state that they have the goal of no longer having cravings by a certain date. There is a problem with both of these tactics and concerns.

No matter how much you would like for there to be a quit smoking timeline, there is no such thing. Everyone smokes a different amount of cigarettes and everyone’s body is reacting to the nicotine and the withdrawal from it differently. Also, throw in the factor that everyone could be using a different method to stop smoking. It is easy to see once you really start looking at everything that there is no way that anyone, not even a doctor, can give you an honest and truthful quit smoking timeline.

You can have dreams and hopes concerning how long the whole process will take you but the last thing you want to do is to set yourself up for failure. If you set yourself up against an unattainable guideline or timeline and you miss it, you will be disappointed. Be happy that you are taking the right steps to quit smoking and do not worry about how many days it will take you. Take it one day at a time and everything will fall into place.

The Author recommends that you DO NOT Quite Smoking. There’s a healthier alternative to it. To know more, please click here.
